I See You Baby...

I've been on TV, y'know...

I imagine you have too.

Yesterday I rolled down to Kings X again to meet Ashridge buddies S & K for a quick, pre-Xmas catch-up...  I managed to dodge the dual carriageway speed cameras on the way to the station but, as I drove further, the surveillance began a little more seriously.

Estimates on the number of CCTV cameras in use in the UK seem to vary between 1.25 and 4.0 million - it seems like 1.85 million is the most accepted number.  I saw several on the station approaches and a few more in the car park, a couple in the ticket office , some on the platform and more on the train.  As I made my way a few blocks north of KX, I could see  CCTV cameras all the way - and, of course, there were more in the restaurant.

Apparently we can be watched by 300 cameras each day.

Honestly, I don't get too stressed about these devices. I'm guessing that many don't work and, although I could always see a camera, I imagine that they weren't always looking at me. And, as I photograph other people, I guess it would be ironic if I was worried about being photographed.

Anyway some of them, make me smile...

This one for example, just around the corner at St Pancras. Now I would be quite keen to imagine that I had been photographed by this beautiful thing...
